I realize that this thread is nearly a month old, but I thought I'd add this for the archives.
If your relationship allows creation, duplicating a related record is as simple as selecting the portal row (i.e., not a field within the row, but the row itself) and pressing Cmd/Ctrl+D. -- David Graham Director of Database Services Productive Computing, Inc.
