Can I do an Insert query on the original file into the new relational file?
Then I can insert certain constants, new field contents etc.
Using SQL seems to require an ODBC table for the source...

Yes I have generated a unique ID..

Ron,
You need to make sure there's a unique ID serial number for each record in
the original file, then do multiple partial exports, each one including the
serial number with the fields you need to populate that table. If you don't
have a serial number, add one.

For instance if you have for each person: phone 1, phone 2, cell, fax and
email, you do 5 separate exports--one each for the combo of the ID and one
of these fields. When you're done you import all 5 exports into the same
PhoneLines table. Then the 5 phone lines show in a portal on the People
screen.

Repeat this process as many times as you need to break it up into multiple
related tables.

Repeating fields can be done with a single export as separate records.

Suggest you "remember" each one of these exports in a separate script so you
can repeat it later.
