I think you're trying to import .fp5 files into FileMaker 7/8/9. As you have found out, that's a no-go. You must either convert the .fp5 files by opening (not importing) and re-saving them with FM8, or export from FileMaker 5 using another format (I like merge).

Hi,

I'm a little baffled by File import in Filemaker 8.5.
I'm building a new system in 8.5 to replace a number of databases built in FM 5. I've built a number of tables in 8.5 from scratch and I'd like to start importing the data from the FM 5 databases into the new tables in FM 8.5.

But when I try to File import...file and select the file with the exported data the FM 8.5 dialog has all my tables grayed out.

I can create a new table but I want to import into the tables already created.

What am I missing???
