Hi Chuck,
Is it possible to use global variables instead? At the start of the script the global is set the same as $$Rep field would be set.

I thought the "$$" precinct dictated a 'global variable'.

If I use the straight code of

Value: GetRepetition ( theTable::theField ; 1 ) in the Set Variable dialog, it works. But if either of the params are a $$Variable, i.e., global variable, it's a bust.

This is not conducive to productivity. Especially when there are more than one repetition.

I'm trying to streamline reusable Scriptmaker scripts.

One aspect is to use Variables to hold information across tables and
scripts.

I'm running into a small problem when it comes to doing calculations
to set variable values when variables are part of the calculation.

Case in point....

Set Variable $$Value to

Value: GetRepetition ( $$RepField ; $$RepNumber ) // where $$RepField
is set to the field name of a repetition field in the layout active
in the database and $$RepNumber is the number of the repetition of $
$RepField.

I'm getting a question mark instead of the text in the field.

What is the proper way of doing this?

Regards,

Chuck
