Chuck,

I believe the GetRepetition() function only works for fields *not* for variables hence GetRepetition ( $$RepField ; $$RepNumber ) is not valid. However since you don't want the $$RepNumber'th repetition of $ $RepField but rather of the field whose name is held in $$RepField, you need the GetField() function:

GetRepetition ( GetField ( $$RepField ) ; $$RepNumber )

this should give you what you want

cheers

I'm trying to streamline reusable Scriptmaker scripts.

One aspect is to use Variables to hold information across tables and scripts.

I'm running into a small problem when it comes to doing calculations to set variable values when variables are part of the calculation.

Case in point....

Set Variable $$Value to

Value: GetRepetition ( $$RepField ; $$RepNumber ) // where $ $RepField is set to the field name of a repetition field in the layout active in the database and $$RepNumber is the number of the repetition of $$RepField.

I'm getting a question mark instead of the text in the field.

What is the proper way of doing this?

Chuck
