Mac OS 10.3.9 FMP 8.5 Hi,
I must flatten my FMP data to send to an image consortium (they'll match my data with images online) in Excel layout form. First problem: when I constructed my database, I used portals in my Image Data Layout . Portals for Artists, Site names, Cultures. It makes sense in a relational database standpoint of course. I had no idea that at some future date I'd have to flattten the data. When Exporting the data to tab delimited or Excel form, the multiple artists, sites, etc. contained in portals does not export. I need an Excel file that shows all the artists, sites, or cultures from the portal in each record flattened into an Excel spreadsheet. Any suggestions? Is it possible? Associated problem: The consortium only has one field to contain multiple artists, etc. They want the data to show: artist name (lifedates); 2artist name (lifedates); artistname3 (lifedates). I can easily make a field that will put the artistname and lifedates together. How do I pull together the multiple artists from the portal into one field?
