I like that. The last time I had to do this from scratch was in FMP 5-6 where it was not an option. With a little bit of screen capturing, one could have an "Authentic" dialogue box :-)

Richard,

Along the same lines as Dave's suggestion, have the script open a new window, with your dialog as the main portion of the layout. When your script finishes it's work close the window. This should put you back in the original window.
Good luck

I have a script that creates a bunch of records, and it takes upwards of 10 seconds to complete the task. Between the time the user gives the go-ahead to do it and the time the task runs to completion, I'd like to flash a brief message on the screen saying "Thanks. Please wait a bit.". This is NOT a dialog ("di-" implies that the user may have something to say back), it's a monolog - 1-way, from me to the user, no response expected or desired.

I figured I could probably achieve this objective just by inserting a Show Custom Dialog step and not entering anything in any of the 3 button-label boxes, then following it with a Pause/Resume Script step with a duration of 1 second. Alas, foiled. FMP automatically displays my dialog box with an "OK" button.

Anyone got any hints about how I can just flash my monolog box?
