Yep, it's the locked-down firewalls on those Win7 machines (with good reason!), 
but you can just get it working by opening up port 5003 in those particular 
client machines. 

To be fair, you can't rely on your IT guys to know that. Sure, they could grow 
up and not blame things that they don't know much about, but that is not in 
their nature. You just need to take them by the hand and lead them down the 
path to true enlightenment. ::-)
