I would recommend airdefense personal, a wireless intrusion detection system for laptops. She can get a free copy at http://www.airdefense.net/products/adpersonal/ This is the "lite" version that doesn't have central managemnt of signatures, etc. However, it is a nice product that will detect if someone is trying to hijack a session, spoof an AP, etc.
Tell her to try that coupled with a good personal firewall and she should be set. -- Rob Frazier, CISSP, ISSAP www.xakephet.com 325-695-7238 Lab 817-271-7557 -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Agent Zr0 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > I have a friend who is interested in better securing her laptop while > she's out surfing the net at coffeehouses and what not.
