I'm using the downloaded binary, which did not include jimi, jai or logkit in lib. Is that an error? I have now added the jimi and jai files. Unfortunately the programs I'm using seem to expect their users to know enough about java to fix things, when it isn't necessary at all to go quite far with xml without it. Bonnie

Also, have you built FOP on your local machine, or are you using downloaded binaries? If you have built it locally, you will need the jimi and jai files installed in the correct directories at build time so that support for them will be included in the compile. > I also downloaded jai, but the files the FOP instructions said I > should sopy > over to the FOP/lib folder weren't part of the download. (Please excuse my > ignorance about Java. I've only had a very basic beginner course.) Look in the "lib" directory.
