I used to use Max's HTML Beauty++ for editing HTML and Perl programs, but he's no longer maintaining/updating it so I'm looking for a replacement.
One thing I've missed is the multi-line search/replace across multiple files. I've added the phReplace add-on I found in the forums, but it doesn't appear to support searching/replacing through multiple files unless you open them all first (unless I'm missing something). I frequently used the feature of searching/replacing multiline text in multiple files by specifying a file mask and recursing subdirectories, so this would be a great addition either natively or via the phReplace add-on. One feature I'd like to see added would be the ability to specify which tab on the left pane is the default (or even just remember the last active tab on shutdown and restore it on startup as the default). I don't use "projects" and would prefer to select files from the file listing. I saw some other requests for this in the forum but didn't see any mention of it being implemented yet, so I'm mentioning it here. Otherwise, I love it so far after only an hour or two of playing. I really loved my old HTML Beauty++ and never really had any problems, but I'd like to move to something that is constantly being maintained and supported. PSPad looks great and wil probably become my new default editor. I stumbled on the built-in HEX editor -- great feature!
