I've got problems with speed in PCB under NT 4 service pack er whatever (6 I
think) and am experiencing similar problems to those already expressed i.e.
long delays on every action on a PCB ( more noticable on designs with
large amount of primitives). When monitored with NT task manager
it was observed that for every action I did on a design e.g. click
on a component a memory page fault occurred which caused a lot of
memory space swapping i.e. lots of disk activity and 2-4 seconds delay.
(depending on the size of the windows swap file).
This is a complete pain and mystery cos it doesn't happen on other peoples
PCs and effect not noticed on 98 or 2000. Any ideas anybody?
P.S. is there any input from Protel regarding exchange of ideas under
the SDK pre-release non disclosure thingy because it is a complete pain
having to remain silent on the subject when there is knowledge to
disseminate to all and sundry with the hopeful effect of prompting useful
input
of server ideas and code from the community . Hello Protel !!! Please
clarify this situation it is to your own good.
