Phil,
        thanks for the tip, but does this effect NT that you know? I am
running NT4 so I am skeptical that your observations may hold similar across
to NT. If you have any suggestions for NT I will try them. For now I will
query my MIS support person on this type of issue, see if he knows any
tricks to check out.
        I had a couple of times tried shutting down everything that wasn't
essential but I still had quite a list of stuff in my NT Task list which I
had no idea what effect they may have if I shut them down so they stayed
running. The one thing that I can report is that according to the Task
Manager only Protel is taking any significant resources, high high 90's,
every once in a while something elses flickers briefly to 1, 2, - 4% CPU
usage.
