I did a full I/O / syscall trace, and the only reference to
"16892b33c7..." I see in that output is fossil reading it in on fd 5.

For reference, I pulled libfossil (I was a couple commits behind (at
"feb9f"; first ancestor I did not already have: "51baf").

This trace indicated a read on fd 5, and many multiple writes  on fd
10, and what look like 3 writes on fd5.
