Who knows how windoze can give you a 320x240 stream ;-) from my snoops the 
mjpeg stream is the same as in Linux.!!

Good, the chipset (vc0301/vc0302/zc0301p/zc0302) is the same an adjust the 
exposure times, no-one can access the sensor directly. exept to freeze the 
webcam firmware. As far as i know only max/min value can be set to the zc030x 
registers (but without documentation... it is your risk)
