Oh yes, bringing a patch into the linux kernel is just simple compared
with FPC. Xen, ReiserFS4, Android patches etc. were applied within days.
Oh, wait .... they are still no in the vanilla kernel though it's so
easy as Graeme just explained.
Oh yes... I sent a small patch to the video4linux mailing list (which is
part of the kernel) in April. In July I sent a corrected version (ok...
that time difference was my problem) and yesterday it was finally queued
for inclusion in 2.6.37.
But I wanted that patch in there, cause I wanted my device to work
without manually patching around. So I waited and finally my wish was
fulfilled :D
