maybe you should try fpc 2.3.1, since that's the one i'm using and my
datetostr is working...

Maybe I'll try (I supposed it can be compiled natively), but then, what's the purpose of a "stable" and "beta" fpc release if we have to leapfrog to the next devel version? (or I'm just confused by the release numbering and 2.3.1 is not the next devel version?).
