PNG would also be fine for my purpose, since it is a company logo that needs to be changed in my older documents. So, I will also try Alison's advice. Your recollection is absolutely correct regarding FrameMaker only displaying a low-res raster image for EPS graphics. And that's only if the EPS file actually contains the TIFF preview--many EPS files don't include the preview image because it is basically a waste, and in those cases you only get a gray rectangle on screen. Instead, it uses a TIF image which, as you noticed, is pretty horrible. When you print to PDF, however, it'll look just fine. Unless there's some overriding reason you need it to be lovely in Frame, I wouldn't worry about it. If there is, try converting to SVG, which Frame handles just fine and is also a vector format.
