Catherine, If you are importing images or PDF files, that font might be in one of those.
An alternative is to edit maker.ini and alias SymbolBolded to Symbol, Bold. The Symbol character tag with no weight is applied. SymbolBolded is not in the Fonts pod. I've searched for it with no luck. It's not on the body, reference, or master pages. I've even looked at one of the MIF files and didn't see Symbol Bolded anywhere. And which font (exactly) is reported as missing now? I'm asking, because FM replaces fonts by a standard mappings (see maker.ini). And maybe something like "Fontname1 Heavy" was replaced with "Fontname2 Heavy" (which might be not present as well) or somethings replacement problems come up with Bold, Italic, BoldItalic replacements. ? At least as long as it's actually a "Quotation Mark." (for a quotation). (U+300A left double angle bracket, U+300B right double angle bracket) For embedding fullwidth single angle brackets, ??? (U+3008 left angle bracket, U+3009 right angle bracket) should be used (like this: ???????) (I hope the Chinese characters in this mail will make it through the list software.) I was discussing the use of quotation marks long and broad with several Chinese TechComm experts at tcworld China Conference in Shanghai last spring and with Chinese typography experts after the conference. Final recommendation was to use ???in cross-references to the title of other documents or subheadings (in the same or external document). Same also if you reference to titles of other documentations (like mentioning "Administrator Guide" in the "User Guide") or mentioning official papers, standard documents etc. That is, this would be the "perfect" way. However, I was confirmed that Chinese readers are also okay with the use of ??? in all scenarios - especially when they know, that the text was typeset by non-Chinese people. (But I guess it might be nice to avoid that this impression comes up.) ? The problem you describe should not occur with FM 2017 (in my test, everything was ok). Also, the quotes should be handled in way that they will be formatted with the Chinese font (not the Latin font). Best regards -- Tino H. Haida, Berlin Rick Quatro: Hi Framers, I have a structured FrameMaker 2017 document that has been translated to Simplified Chinese. Some of the cross-reference formats have double quotes in them, like See "<$paratext>" on page <$pagenum>. The text has been translated but the quotes and building blocks are still there. The problem is that with the Chinese there are sometimes line breaks after the open quote and before the close quote, depending on where the cross-reference falls on the line. For example, the close quote in the text below is on the second line by itself instead of bring the whole quoted text down with it. ??????????? 97 ?? " ???? " The same thing happens if an open quote falls as the end of the line; it stays there and the rest of the quoted text moves to the next line. Is there a way to prevent these line breaks? Thank you very much. Rick Rick Quatro Carmen Publishing Inc.
