Ahh, Good point. I have been using the sources always from Nov 24th to make comparisons as similar as possible for the tests with 7.0
which will affect a broad range of performance characteristics. There have also been VLAN tagging related performance improvements made in HEAD that aren't present in RELENG_6, avoiding extra memory allocations and frees in storing the tags.
I ran the tests against RELENG_6 then as well and have posted those results. There does indeed seem to be a slight improvement in HEAD over RELENG_6.
