Good suggestion, the Handbook should be changed according to that if it really works (and is, in my opinion, easier). My statement regarding the xorg.conf _and_ XML fun wasn't a personal experience and testing (xorg-server-1.7.7_2,1 here), but the Handbook said so: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/x-config.html It's mentioned directly beneath the XML fun in 6.4.2.
