Crumbs.

Not sure I can get it on Freeview here in the South...

I was holding off on doing this before the the content was fixed up a
bit.

I see you've corrected the rather odd subset of languages that was on
there. However, yesterday I discovered that you can simplify your
Windows instructions a bit. It seems that Christian quietly included a
batch file similar to yours in the final Windows 2.3.0 build. I don't
have my notes here, but IIRC running localised Freeciv 2.3.0 is now as
simple[*] as

  cd \path\to\freeciv
  .\freeciv-gtk2.cmd gd

with the trick being finding out what "\path\to\freeciv" is. (On
Windows 7, I do this by going to the Start menu, clicking All Programs,
finding the "Freeciv" icon, right-clicking, choosing "Open file
location", right-clicking on the address bar in the resulting window,
selecting "Copy address as text", and pasting that into the Command
Prompt window. All from memory, may be wrong, and probably different for
other versions of Windows.)

[*] Still far from ideal, of course, but at least you don't have to
write your own batch file.

Perhaps you could verify this and update the instructions to match?

I can also add a bit of detail to the Linux section.

I'll try to find time to do these things, but I'm a bit short of spare
time to work on Freeciv right now.
