Hi everybody,
couldn't this be taken as a great opportunity to say goodbye to SVN, with
its ludicrously eternal times to check in and out, and to sourceforge and
its "twenty clicks for every single simple operation" website, and finally
embrace Git and github or bitbucket?
This is a very big project, and my laziness is mostly to be blamed for my
lack of contribution, but I must confess that now and then I've felt the
urge to try and fix a bug; but then, the eternity needed to get the code,
the inability to use branches in a sane way, and, in one word, SVN, has
stopped me.
I'm sure that a git repo with the ability to send pull requests would lower
quite a bit the effort needed to contribuite, and would therefore boost the
world's contribution to the project.
