Hi,

It is not sensible to try to scan a huge FAT32 partition using just realmode code.
But I personally am not very comfortable without a program to scan a disk or very small HD that can only run in protected mode (that is, DOSFSCK will not remove the need for a 16-bit disk scanning program, unless we impose that SCANDISK/DISKSCAN just works in PM, and that in RM you should use CHKDSK instead).
I am VERY happy that we in the end have VCPI (up to small problems), so when it is made official and (SUGGESTION) we distribute CWSDPMI with FreeDOS (or other DOS extender that we can legally offer and that's better), I'll shut up about these 32-bit code stuff ;-)

Only one program is missing and that is a Scan-Disk (written as 2 words)

Afraid of the M1CR0$0FT police? ;-) Let's swap the words then and call it DISKSCAN!

utility for Fat32. For what I kow, DOSFSCK is working and need only a small fixes in the read sector.

If there is a volunteer for this Herculean feat, I'd suggest integrating DOSFSCK into DISKSCAN.

IMHO a working version od DOSFSCK should be included in version 1.0 to have a full set of tools.

Agreed. Lucho
