I've selected the option 1 and FreeDOS freeze when loading CuteMouse.

this one has EMM386 enabled. see section V (5) of: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/distributions/beta9sr1/readme.txt

perhaps a problem with (auto-)loading high of the mouse driver
Another reboot of the VM.
I've selected the option 3 (no drivers) and I was without mouse support.

yes, that's the purpose of a clean boot. It enabled you to flash BIOS for example (because that requires that no drivers are loaded)

Another reboot of the VM.
I've selected the option 2. All OK. I've installed GEMINI 2 and I started it without any problem.
The mouse now worked OK.

yes, only HIMEM (XMS-manager) enabled, no EMM386.
