Certainly valuable. That's why a lot of us used it. Heck, presumably
that's why he shared it with the world in the first place.

I have no idea why they decided (now) to enforce that, after all these
months. The original site is still down. AFAIK, the software itself is
still freeware (although not totally free/libre). I don't know if this
was Japheth's wish (doubt it, but he's very eccentric) or if it's just
some default setting somewhere. Color me naive. I don't think the
world is a better place now.

Jim Hall will probably say, "That's what you get for not being
free/libre in the first place". And he's probably right.
