The original site is still down. AFAIK, the software itself is still freeware (although not totally free/libre). I don't know if this was Japheth's wish (doubt it, but he's very eccentric) or if it's just some default setting somewhere. Color me naive. I don't think the world is a better place now. Jim Hall will probably say, "That's what you get for not being free/libre in the first place".
