Would it be enough for a first step to create an Excel sheet with all programs in Gitlab, section FreeDOS base?
Something like:
command / external website? / programmer / still active yes/no? / known bugs? (maybe short, e.g. https://sourceforge.net/p/freedos/bugs/ bug number) or:
(https://gitlab.com/groups/FreeDOS/base/-/issues)

I agree. We should start keeping track of who maintains what, and
perhaps even throw out packages that are not maintained and nobody
feels like taking over. That could also help to reduce the inflation
in neccessary installation media size.
