OW is just like FreeDOS here, bugs only gets fixed when somebody is interested enough to fix it, pays someone else to fix it, or hopes that somebody else fixes it, but no guarantees. In your case not enough people have cared about it so far, I'm afraid. A bug tracker just records the bug so it won't be forgotten as easily as writing an email.
