I recognize we don't have as much traffic on this list as we used to. When we set up the monthly reminder, we had a lot of email traffic - and many new people joining the email lists. The monthly reminder helped set certain ground rules to help our discussion remain productive and avoid going off-topic.
We still have new members join the email list, so I think an occasional reminder is helpful - even if we also link to the reminder text on the website. I'll at least make the reminder shorter. It doesn't need to be so wordy. For example, we don't need the description about FreeDOS or the link to the website. If the monthly reminder continues to be bothersome into 2018, we can reconsider.
