This is correct, but even a bit better CON=(EGA,437,1), which tells DISPLAY
"My BIOS is 437".  When you issued CON=(EGA,858,1) you are telling DISPLAY
 "my BIOS is 858", which is not true. And that is why you didn't see any
change.
