Hello, You say you can enter DOS commands, so then you should not need to do any further installation.
But generally, all you need to do to install DOS is to boot and then use the command "sys X:" where X: is the drive you want to install to. If by "installing FreeDOS" you mean getting all the software and the menus and stuff, then yes you can just copy everything and then run the installation from one directory to another. As to text-based games, adventure games obviously.
