Thanks for your questions Paul. 
First let me address the fact that the name of the application is a
bit confusing, and there is a historical reason for that.  FreePM is
really an EMR with some practice management features.  During
development it became very apparent that it was not appropriate to
build a practice management system then try to glue on an EMR
later.  All data starts with the patient encounter (well, except for
historical stuff like past medical history) so we changed course and
built an EMR with the intent of adding full practice management
functionality as we go.

Maybe, maybe not.  If the following paragraph is hard fact then no
there is a great deal to implementing an EMR.

I think you will have a problem transferring to ANY new system if
you only have a few days to do it.

Which practice management system do you have?  
I know what most of the popular ones are using.

Yes.

Not yet. We are working with some billing companies that we can send
the data to from the EMR. THe other option is to use what is
essentially a superbill display at patient checkout and enter that
information into your current practice management application.  OR
(open source offers so many options <g>) we can contract to write
the interface to your current system.
