Dont forget that in order for CHAP authentication to work, the password needs to be stored in plain text on the radius server. You cant use CHAP to authenticate against /etc/passwd. Try putting an entry in the users file that has the password specified.
Try running freeradius in debug mode (radiusd -X), and send us the output, as well as the output of radtest (including all the arguments you are passing it it, eg "radtest bob bob 1 127.0.0.1 testing123" Andrew Tait System Administrator Country NetLink Pty, Ltd E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] WWW: http://www.cnl.com.au 30 Bank St Cobram, VIC 3644, Australia Ph: +61 (03) 58 711 000 Fax: +61 (03) 58 711 874 "It's the smell!
