Do you mean from a annotation? If so, then you can use
mri_annotation2label. This will dump all the annotations in to separate
labels. If you mean to merge several labels together into one, use
mri_mergelabels.
Note: the current version of mri_annotation2label requires a table (you
can use aparc.ctab). It will also fail to create the last label. These
are fixed in the current dev version, which I have copied to:
