Thanks Nick. I know my machine is 32b and its an intel Pentium m processor; 
however, I don't understand how my installation procedure would be different 
whether the machine is 32 or 64 bit, because the installation archive is the 
same and the instructions are the same. Or at least that's how I'm reading them:

contains the instructions for determining whether you have a 32b or 64b
linux machine.  basically, just type:

uname -m

and if it says 'x86_64', then you have a 64b machine.
