Hi, I have a question about the utility of the make_average_subject command.
I have a schizophrenia study with 115 subjects and am worried about using the Freesurfer average brain, given that scz patients have distinct morphological aspects to their brains. I am therefore considering making an average brain from my subjects, but have read some old posts cautioning against this, since an average brain taken across a large number may be too indistinct to be of value. Is there a recommendation on this - should I produce an average across all my subjects, or should I maybe use a small (20?) sample of my subject brains to create an average?
