I think the mmpython caching could be used / extended to do this. At least the common structures are already there. I would not like to use a database since not needing a database is IMO one of our main 'unique selling' points. Perhaps we could use ZODB or something else that is not as big as an SQL DB and stuff offers the functionality to quickly index media content and its metadata. Maybe ZODB may really be a good choice because of the OO character it has. It's also mostly python. :) l8r...
