I'm going to write a standalone version first, just something that recurses through directories and adds all the files to the database, after that, I'll add it to Freevo in someway to try it. Based on how that works, we can move it into the cache system. The other thing I thought of, is it would be nice to have "Pre/Post" plugins. i.e. before I play a movie, I run a script to adjust brightness/contrast on my g400, and things like the directfb/x11 modules need to make certain changes. It would be nice to have a generic way to call commands before and after playback.
