All,

an improved SDL DXR3 patch is available at:
http://www.m-koetter.de/download/SDL-1.2.9-dxr3-ffmpeg-002.patch

I traced down the odd menu behaviour - it seems to be related to the MPEG frame size. With MPEG1 it fails predictably, probably because the DXR3 doesn't handle large MPEG1 still frames well. So I'm now encoding the framebuffer to MPEG2, which seems to work flawlessly with em8300 0.15.3 drivers and the firmware supplied with them (em8300.uc). By the way, using another firmware (extracted from Sigma drivers), it fails again, but much less often than with MPEG1 ;) Other than that I fixed video cleanup, which *will* inevitably fail in 001, causing a crash when trying to play a video.
