I agree with all that Mick says, the devel list is there for ideas it's
quite hard getting sensible ideas without discussing them and letting them
evolve into something really good.

The code in mixer.py is really crap and does have a misleading name, it
should be called volume.py as this is all it does. It certainly is not a
mixer and it would be really good to get one into freevo. Please do
continue.

My approach is that I'm pretty happy to add to the freevo one development
branch _almost_ anything that someone wishes to have added and has spent
some time developing, even when I know that it has a few bugs, this way if
someone wants to use the addition, knows or wants to learn Python they
very often fix the problem and the feature is ready for prime time. :)
Check out the webserver library for example, broken to start with and then
over time got fixed now it is getting really good.

After thirty odd years of developing software, I have seen that all
software after a couple of years is no longer streamlined and even happens
if your are the only developer; how many times have I looked at some old
code that I wrote and wondered what I was thing about when I wrote it. :)

Cheers,
Duncan
