Hmm... I tried it today, and didn't see any flicker, though the white font was too 'bright' and seemed blurry - almost flickery. I reduced the brightness slightly and it looked nice.
Only issue I had was that the output from my PVR250 looked horrible with dfbmga, which is utterly confusing.
