great! thanx for your help... I disabled arts, and now it works for mp3, audio-cd and sound from the mpg-file. I think I don't need to recompile mplayer, as the system will be used only for freevo. I don't need artsd to be running.


even if sound does work now, reading dvd does still not work: screen gets black for 2-3 seconds, and then it returns to the freevo menu.
mplayer_stderr.log and mplayer_stdout.log don't contain any error.


any idea for that?

for the rest everything works so far (as soon as I correct the settings for the different TV-channels ;-) )
