Nothing that should effect the CPU usage. > Is there any additionnal polling that is launched by default somewhere ? Not as far as I know. Did you upgrade any other modules? Such as kaa? You can safely remove the /usr/lib/python2.x/site-packages/freevo and /usr/lib/python2.x/site-packages/kaa and reinstall these packages. This will ensure that there are no python old modules lying around after the upgrade. Also delete the build directories in the source directories. On my test machine (P3 733MHz) the CPU usage is about 8% and mplayer is 55% when playing the kaa-menu-demo avi.
