With childapp_debug=0 the mplayer (and other child programs) output is
thrown away by ChildApp2.

Must admit I hadn't realized that mplayer increased the verbosity with
more 'v's as they have another option for setting output verbosity levels.

There is an mplayer option -identify that provides stream information, but
I've never tried it and am not sure if mplayer just shows the information
and exits or plays the whole file.
