The HTPC I'm setting up is going to run primarily from a compact-flash/IDE drive. The OS (Ubuntu) will be installed to the CF/IDE drive, and all the movie, TV, music files will be on external drives.
Given that the CF/IDE drive is limited in its available storage, I'd like to make sure Freevo writes as little data there as possible. So far, I've found the "OVERLAY_DIR" setting in local_conf.py, which sounds as if it controls where all the fxd files are stored. I'm not sure what else Freevo stores in /home/freevo, or how to redirect that (if possible). Anyone have any advice on what to look at to minimize writing to /home/freevo and anywhere else on the main file system? I know there are a couple of environment variables that are relevant, too-- is there a comprehensive list anywhere?
