Hi Matthias, > Can I use an other initscript for this or make my own?
The only other wireless ifup script we have is for broadcom, and it won't work with an atheros card. But if you know what you are doing, you can make your own for sure, lookup the docs at madwifi.org. As i don't have such a device, i can't test it, but it should be something like executing the following: wlanconfig ath0 destroy wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode ap iwconfig ath0 mode master iwconfig ath0 essid FreeWRT iwconfig ath0 channel 6 This will create an access point without any encryption. To use it, you have to give the interface an ip or bridge it with the ethernet interface. > I really like the way FreeWRT works - more than OpenWRT. Hope to get a > new release before christmas! I guess it only shows us that the drivers were loaded, but nothing more. If you can't get it working, ask for help again, or just wait for the "official" script, which should come soon. At least some basic version to support the creation of an accesspoint. Hopefully the responsible developer reads this and hurrys up a bit. ;) Bye, -- Lothar Gesslein <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
