Maybe not brctl, but tcpdump does. So if you start 'tcpdump -i dev' (do
_not_ use the -p flag) on one console, you should be able to verify the
device's promisc state. Using this method you can walk through all nics
in question, thereby digging down the problem. This would help us alot,
as up to now the range of possible points of failure is quite big. :)
