Hi,
after (successfully) using DD-WRT i wanted more freedom and chose
FreeWRT. Since i am not afraid of compiling stuff myself i used the ADK
to configure and compile my very own image for my WL500gP. After a lot
of problems flashing, trying A LOT of different ways of getting the
image onto my box (for a while i thought i bricked it) -- it still never
boot up successfully... Rescue mode does work, but after normal boot
nothing works (Power LED is on [never flashes or anything] and the used
LAN-Port-LED is also on).

So i decided to give the WIB image a try -- and damn that works out of
the box. I then upgraded to my very own image -- doesn't work again. I
really would love to get my ADK image to work...

FYI:
- I don't run in any compilation erros
- I use the 1.0.3 branch, checkout from svn.
- After a lot of problems i guess i finally found my prefered way of
flashing: using the rescue mode and the flash.sh script (from svn TRUNK)
- I use Gentoo and had everything needed to get ADK work already
installed.
- I (of course) tried different settings in ADK mainly to reduce size of
the image (i hoped that is the problem)

So my questions is: Are there any known problems when compiling
yourself, like possible misconfiguration?

BTW: Is there any paper/howto on how i boot from usb directly? I want to
overcome slowness, space and possible brick of internal flash... I found
HowTos for OpenWrt, but i was not able to find good resources for
special topics like that for FreeWRT -- any public forums?

Thanks in advance for any help!
