Speaking only as a single member of the list, I was glad for the post (certainly, at least, the original and the resolution update).
It was informative in its own right, and relevant to me as a somewhat frequent online buyer of computer stuff and an occasional returner of computer stuff. It was also an entertaining story, though this is not a literature list. I WAS interested to see what, if anything would come of the posts. And then, there is always good old schadenfreude. I suspect Nick's voyeurism is something like the latter, but preferred by those who are faint of heart.
