Probably the most prominent skeptics in recent times have been Bjorn Lomborg of the Copenhagen Consensus (he suggests that it's important, but perhaps not as important as other matters) and William Nordhaus of Yale (who likewise talks about severity and outcomes). Their writings and speeches may offer some insight. I hope it's a productive conversation.
